I am happy to announce that Sawyer Walker has been selected to be a Mayville Student of the Month.  Sawyer is a helpful, young man who is always ready to lend a hand to others.  He is a wonderful role model for all students as he obeys and follows the school rules. Sawyer is the son of Josh and Brittni Walker.  Sawyer also has 2 siblings, Kolt who is in 6th grade and Kenzy who is in 4th.  He also has many pets that he helps take care of at home such as his dog, Maggie, his cat Penelope, 2 peacocks named William and Priscilla, 2 goats named Sid and Hank, a rooster named Jimmy, and 5 chickens. Sawyer enjoys going to school here at Mayville Elementary.  His favorite subject is math because he likes learning stuff that he doesn’t already know.  He is a very hard worker, even when something may give him trouble and is not afraid to ask questions. Sawyer has many interests outside of school.  Sawyer likes to play outside and riding his dirtbike.  He also likes to pick up rocks to put by the tree that his grandma planted.  When asked what he would like to be when he grows up, he would like to be a firefighter like many of his family members before him. I am very proud of Sawyer, and I know that he is going to continue to excel at everything that he sets his mind to.  Congratulations Sawyer on representing Mayville Community Schools as a Third Grade Student of the Month!
