I have chosen Karli Cain as my Kindergarten Student of the Month. Karli is 6 years old and the daughter of Danielle and David. She has a younger sister, named Khloie.  Karli says she is zero years old, but according to mom, she is 9 months. Karli loves her little sister and after school, she loves to lie down by her and tickle her. Her family has two dogs. Leroy is her dad’s dog; she likes to call him Bubba. Stitch is hers. Karli’s favorite color is pink and her favorite candy is Kit Kats. Her favorite dinner is mac n’ cheese. She likes her mom’s cooking but she usually eats what she likes to eat. She used to do ballet and gymnastics, and she really liked it. When I asked Karli what she likes to do, she said she likes to look for sea shells.  Up north, at Uncle Don and Aunt Kathy’s house, they walk out into the water and look for shells. She also goes to their acorn tree and looks for acorns. She has sometimes found them “in the trailer in the cracks”. She also likes to visit her Uncle Patrick’s house. When Karli grows up, she wants to be a lifeguard. When I asked her why, she said she loves to swim.  She has never seen a real-life lifeguard before, but she saw one on a Minecraft video. At school, Karli’s favorite subject is math. She likes to learn stuff and its easy for her. Her favorite special is art, and at recess, she likes the monkey bars. I chose Karli as my student of the month because I am so proud of her and what she has accomplished this year. Last year, she was a Begin-a-gartner and unsure of herself. This year, she has blossomed and become a confident learner, leading the class with the top scores on all of our testing each time. She is still very quiet and shy in class when talking to adults, but the kids in class love her and want to be her friend. It has been a pleasure having Karli in my class, and I am truly honored to be her teacher, and I would like to present her to you as my Student of the Month.
