Graham Asmus

I have chosen Graham Asmus as my Kindergarten Student of the Month.  Graham turned 6 years old in February and is the son of Ward and Jenna Asmus.  He has an older sister, named Brooklyn, who is in fourth grade.   They have a dog named Charlie and a cat named Mittens.  Graham likes to play with Charlie.  His favorite foods are chicken nuggets, strawberries, raspberries and apples.

Graham is an athletic boy, who loves to play sports.  He likes to play football and soccer, and he will play baseball this spring.  At home, he likes to play basketball with his mom and dad.  Graham loves to watch sports with his dad and even though he is only 6 years old, he has his favorite teams.  The first two that he mentioned were the Lions (he is always decked out in Lions’ gear) and Portugal for soccer (football)!  He also likes two more Detroit’s teams, the Red Wings and the Tigers.

At school, Graham has been enjoying our Knowledge units.  We most recently completed a unit about seasons and the weather.  He said that learning about the weather was one of his favorite things he’s learned.  His favorite special is art, and he would like to be an artist when he grows up.   During recess, he likes to play soccer.

I chose Graham as one of my students of the month because he always follows our CATS expectations.  He makes wise choices, follows directions, is respectful and stays safe.  I can always count on him to do the right thing, try hard on his work, and to excel at anything we are learning.  He is one smart cookie!  Graham is well liked by everyone, and even though he was very quiet when he started school, he has opened up and made lots of new friends.

I have enjoyed having Graham in my class, and it is my pleasure to present him to you as my Student of the Month.
